Spain is one of the largest wine producer and exporters in the world. Rioja, being the most famous wine district in Spain, have made wine for almost 1000 years, but there is signs of wine being produced as far back as 3000 years ago.
There are over 400 grape varieties in Spain, however, the bulk of the production comes from a few, such as Tempranillo which is the most used grape in Rioja and which is also popular in Castilla-La Mancha.
